After so many rainy days we had a great day for our trip from Ljubljana to Venice, Italy. With a stop in Nova Gorica on the way. Picture quality is a little low due to the moving car and window they were taken through. BUT! Just wanted to show the beautiful scenery that Slovenia has to offer!
In two days I’ll be posting from my day visit to Venice, Italy.
May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.
First stop when back in Slovenia was the picturesque Predjama Castle. The castle is situated 9 km away from the most famous cave in Slovenia, the Postojna Cave and entered the Guinness World Records list as being the largest castle built in the entrance to a cave (to check it out click here).
It seems to be unknown when the castle was exactly built but the most convincing guess I came across is the 12th century. The original name was Jama Castle which translate to cave castle.
After taking a few (dozen) pictures of me posing in front of the castle we started towards Ljubljana. A long day on the road behind us we reached our destination. To check out our road trip routes on a map see my previous post here.
My travel posts got left off in Istria, Croatia. Sorry for the few month break, I’ll make sure to catch you up on the rest of my trip for sure.
Heading towards the Slovenian boarder we kept to the coastline as much as possible. The weather was windy and a little chilly but it did give the pictures an unique feel.
The last of your Croatian kunas we spent at a little cafe/bar in the last picture. The wind brought seawater splashes to our faces but was quite nice sitting there so close to the water.
Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end.
I wish you all happiness and laughter for the New Year!
A year ago I greeted the new year up in the sky on my way to Singapore. This year I have my feet firmly on the ground and am as excited for the new year as ever. As for new years resolutions go, I usually don’t make any. I’ll just say I plan to keep my blog going and sharing my thoughts about work and travel with you. Hopefully finding the previous routine with the weekly posts.
Enjoy the celebrations everyone! See you in the New Year! 🙂
Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.
This was the view from our lunch place while driving towards the Slovenian boarder. Food was good though I was so hungry at that point that I don’t think my opinion was very objective. But as this is a travel post I think the beauty of the scenery is more important and also more evident.
Apply yourself. Get all the education you can, but then, by God, do something. Don’t just stand there, make it happen.
Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them.
